Product Selection Tables

Packing

It is important to select the correct BeamClamp products for your application to achieve optimum performance and guaranteed loading. The Product Selection tables are designed to speed up this process and give you confidence that you have selected the correct products
for your application. When using tapered steelwork, such as RSJ's, the tables work on the flange thickness being the point at which the tapered surface intersects the vertical edge as below:

The following steps are guides to using these tables correctly:

See the key below for how to determine what the code means for specifying the correct BeamClamp products.

1. Select the 'type' of product you wish to use e.g BA or BB, BE1 or BE2, or BK1. The individual product pages give information on the correct application for each product.

2. Select the bolt size you wish to use. The loading specifications of each product are stated on the individual product pages. Grade 8.8 bolts must be used.

3. Find out the flange thickness of the steelwork you are connecting to, for tapered flanges use the diagram opposite for the correct dimension.

4. If your steelwork is parallel or tapers up to 5 degrees (please use table 1) or if your steelwork tapers between 6 degrees and 8 degrees (please use table 2). Should your steelwork be different to these parameters please contact BeamClamp division and we will advise you on the best product to use.

5. Using the correct table from our Product Selection tables select the thickness of your steelwork down the left hand column, then across the top row select your required bolt size.

6. Now select the product you wish to use in the next row down e.g.BA or BB, BE1 or BE2, or BK1, Run down this column until you get to the flange thickness you selected in the previous stage.

7. This will then give you a code that determines the correct products for your application.

Key:
1 = Short tail type BA or BB
2 =

Medium tail type BA or BB

3 =

Long tail type BA or BB

BF1 =

Type BF1

BG1

=

Type BG1

BH1 =

Type BH1

BF1 =

Type BF1

BG1 =

Type BG1

BH1 =

Type BH1

OK =

Product is suitable for this application

X =

Not recommended for this flange thickness

Note:

A + between any of the above designations simply means there is more than one product required.

If any of the designations have a number before them it is simply the multiple of that item e.g. 2BF1 means 2 x BF1.
